Food Safety Handler Course (SITXFSA005)

Duration: This four-hour course integrates the knowledge necessary for food preparation and handling within the hospitality and tourism sectors. It covers the implementation of personal hygiene practices to prevent the contamination of food items that could lead to foodborne illnesses.
This course is designed for people looking for employment in the following roles:
- Cooks,
- Chefs,
- Caterers,
- Kitchen Stewards,
- Kitchen hands,
- Bar and food attendants,
- Room attendants and front office staff (where applicable)
The food safety handler course covers the following criteria:
- Follow hygiene procedures and identify food hazards.
- Report any personal health issues.
- Prevent food contamination.
- Prevent cross-contamination by washing hands.
Outcomes
Once a competent outcome is awarded, learners will be issued with a statement of attainment for SITXFSA005 Use Hygiene practices for food safety that allows you to work in hospitability industry throughout Australia.
Successful student can upgrade to Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (NSW Food Authority FSS Certificate) by undertaking an additional unit which is SITXFSA006 Participate in safe food handling practicing practices.
These units of Competency is Nationally Recognised Training from Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Training Package.

Assessment
Assessment is via written questions and demonstrations in a simulated setting in the presence of our assessor.
What do I bring?
Candidates must bring one form of original photo ID on the day of the course (passport, Australian Driver’s License or RTA Proof of Age Card).
USI (Unique Student Identifier) Requirement
ALL Students doing nationally recognised training need to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
What is a USI
The USI is a reference number made up of ten numbers and letters that: creates a secure online record of your recognised training and qualifications gained in Australia, from all training provides you undertake recognised training with will give you access to your training records and transcripts can be accessed online, anytime and anywhere is free and easy to create and stays with you for life

Cancellation Policy
We are unable to refund monies for students who do not turn up for classes or decide at a later date after booking that they do not want to attend.
Changes to class times are allowed by. but required to be within 48 hours of the class commencing, otherwise $50 would be charged to class time changing.
